Dude…. Today is awesome.
So, last night I decided to take a nap at like 8 pm. Well… I didn’t wake up till 7:40 am when my alarm clock went off meaning I had to hurry and get to the meeting place for my social psych field trip.
I wasn’t able to really do all I needed (like eat) before I was like… crap, I’d better like run. So I got there and then we ended up actually waiting a half hour before leaving. So I could have been late after all.
We started off with a prayer… which… was awesome, like, totally unexpected (however, we couldn’t really expect anything since all we knew was we needed a lunch, a pencil, and a nickel). We drove about ten to fifteen minutes to a church! Again, awesome… especially since I think all of us were LDS.
When we got out, we went to the cultural hall (set up like a gym for those that don’t know) and were separated into two teams. The somethings with 8 people and my team, the Cobras, with 7 people. I was one of the three people who decided to be goalies.
Basically, we all had newspaper bats and the object was to get the ball across the end line on either side. No penalty for outs, just had to wait for the ball to be thrown back in by the professor.
I blocked a ton of shots, including getting a duct tape ball in the neck in order to block. He he…. I only missed two I think. It was a LOT of fun.
We then did like… an alternative to the dating game using questions to just like, get to know the people sitting across from us. Also a lot of fun.
We were then put laying down shoulder to shoulder alternating which way your feet went, and my professor body surfed over us. That… is hilarious, especially since when he would fall, he would just stay there for like fifteen seconds to see if they could get him back up again.
Then we played tic tac toe only with six by six and you had to have five. Two different boards.
Then in groups of two or three, we made straw rafts in ten minutes and saw who could get the raft that would carry the most pennies.
Then we had lunch (teacher provided cookies and some breakfast bars and pop).
Let’s see… then we got in four groups and received 5 or 7 clues to find out one of four possible riddles. Only one representative could go negotiate with groups to get the clues. It was SO much fun. We did the riddle that you have to get people over the river. AND WE WON! Ha ha… I was so excited. Like, I really got into it, it was my favorite.
Then we split into two groups to figure out a maze kinda. Like, there was only one good path to take to get to the end, and we just had a blank graph sheet to figure out how to get there. Each person had two sections of the map to memorize in one minute. If you took the wrong way, one person died and could no longer contribute. It was awesome, our group made it with 5 out of eight surviving. The other group only had three left alive. This was the FIRST time the professor has ever had both groups succeed. Also really interesting and fun.
Oh, and throughout this, we had like a five page thing to finish. Like…. First day of class, we filled out this sheet like…. Of interesting things about ourselves… and professor had taken like…. More than three, less than six things about each person and we had to figure out who had done what.
Overall…. Awesome. We finished at 4:30. Half hour earlier than expected. Again…. It was a TON of fun. I’m so glad I didn’t sleep in.
